Decorative and Faux Painting:
Faux means false or fake,
and Decorative Painting is simply any application that is not
general painting. So when applied to painting it means
making your surface look like something else.
Color Glaze
The most common finish is a
color glaze or blend which, depending on the color choice, transforms
your new wall into a beautifully antiqued finish. If you’re
not into an antique look, the glaze also creates a suede appearance
or a nice blend of colors.
Venetian Plaster
This is a popular finish which,
by name, duplicates the walls of Venice. This could be
very rich and bold or subtle and smooth. Both are elegant
looks.
Wax
Using wax instead of plaster
gives a similar look, with added gloss and durability.
Luster stone
This finish adds a metallic
cream effect to the troweled look of plaster and wax.
This gives a very unique beauty to your surface.
Old World Looks
This look gives walls that
aged but solid feel. With “exposed” layers
of texture and color, this is a great look for accent walls,
wine cellars, or rooms with unique character.
Textures:
Most have knock-down or orange
peel texture on existing surfaces. Applying a hand troweled
finish is a great way to replace this texture. Whether
you’re looking for totally smooth or varied amounts of
action, texturing gives your home a new look and feel.
Even by adding nothing more than general painting, your new
texture will be evident.
General Painting:
If it’s not decorative
painting you’re looking for, JK Decorative and Faux Painting
offers top quality general painting services. We give you the
most solid top coat available by using only top quality paints.
We seal every tape line (where applicable) to give you very
straight and solid lines. Either by hand or by spray,
our general painting is unbeatable.
Prep Only:
Most dislike painting because
of the prep work involved to get a good paint job. In
fact the actual “painting” part of the job is somewhat
enjoyable. We offer our preparation services leaving you
with over six inches of coverage (tape plus six inch paper)
to do your project. When completed, just pull the tape.
This will leave you with sharp lines and, possibly, minimal
touch-up. There are some paints that are very elastic
and poor in quality that are not recommended for this service.
